A Recipe for Sanity

Tapestry Communications Presents

A Recipe for Sanity:
Developing Strategies to Help You PROSPER in Turbulent Times

Do you have a project you want to champion? Has your boss asked you to “step up to the plate”? Do you feel overwhelmed by “doing more with less”? Do you want to simply enjoy your daily tasks more? If so, join Katherine Brennan Murphy for a lively, one-day workshop that will help you to:

  • Prepare for the unexpected
  • Respond to challenges calmly and constructively
  • Open yourself to finding multiple “right” answers
  • Spice up your work by looking for the creative, unique approach
  • Prioritize your tasks using the paired-comparison method
  • Expand your leadership and communication skills
  • Retain your sense of humor and perspective

As a response to the uncertain economic climate, Katherine has taken key features of two of Tapestry’s longer workshops and molded them into a one-day session. This session will help participants feel more confident about making difficult choices under extremely trying conditions—choices ranging from how to reapportion work after a layoff to how to creatively find time for work and family.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop will help participants from all professional walks of life who need to or who have been asked to:

  • Improve communication skills
  • Take on more leadership duties—project or people
  • Find a better work/life balance
  • Need to be reenergized (or motivated) about their work
  • Operate in a more collaborative style
  • Be prepared to handle emergency situations

What does the workshop include?

A mix of lecture, discussion, and exercises including the following:

  • Everyday Creativity, a video by acclaimed photographer, Dewitt Jones
  • Exercises adapted from The Leadership Challenge
  • Time to design your own recipes—identify potential situations and create a recipe to effectively respond to each one, even under difficult conditions
  • Index cards pointing you to books, articles, and organizations to visit later
